I’m grateful for my GPS. I literally have the WORST direction sense. I think I was born without one. 🤔 If you’re ever with me and we are walking around exploring somewhere and you’re deciding who to follow. Do NOT choose me!
Remember fold up paper maps? Then Mapquest that we would print out and read along on our journey? 😂
So many years back, I was going through my divorce and wanted to do something special with my girls. Just us. Girls trip. Nothing major… just to Kalahari in the Dells. Sounds easy right? It was UNTIL THERE WAS A MAJOR CONSTRUCTION DETOUR!
So no cell phones. It did NOT say this on my Mapquest paper..
Suddenly we find ourselves in some Godforsaken town (village?) in the middle of nowhere. Where the population had to be like 30. I’m playing it cool. The girls are in the back singing and literally have on their water wings so excited.
I pull over to a tiny building and go in to ask for directions. Noone in it. Cool. I finally find a man at the third place I went into and he was so kind. He could see I was freaking. He wrote me directions to get back to the highway. On a sticky note. His instructions were extremely….vague. Like “there’s gonna be a farm with sheep, pass that and look for the church…” etc.. which for me?? 🤦🏼♀️
Anyway somehow we made it. I’m so grateful for this man who helped me find my way out of wherever I was and get my girls to our getaway..
And we got there. And I only had three panic attacks while we were lost…
I honestly don’t know WHERE on Earth I’d be without my GPS now. Literally. 😂🤦🏼♀️
